The journal was founded in 2007. Until 2012 it was published under the name of «Vestnik of Mari State Technical University. Series «Radio Engineering and Infocommunication Systems». From 2012, because of university renaming, it is called « Vestnik of Volga State University of Technology. Series «Radio Engineering and Infocommunication Systems». Is issued 4 times a year.

The journal publishes results of original scientific and technical investigations in the sphere of radio engineering, information and communication, controlling systems, implementing information transmission, reception, retrieval and destroying using different wavelength ranges, as well as research results of the theory of systems and networks on their architecture and structure, methods of information switching and the routing of traffic, protocol realizations and distributed information processing, soft/hardware of infocommunication systems and their information security. The results on the scientific basis of new technologies of electronic device production and the principles of their construction are published.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND RADIO ENGINEERING
Original results of investigations, aimed at the creation and support of the operation of devices and systems, based on the use of electromagnetic oscillations and waves and intended for information transmission, reception and processing and obtaining information about the environment, natural and technical objects are published. Moreover, it publishes investigation results on automated systems of distributed information processing, the theoretical basis of construction, operation and the use of computer networks of different scales, possibilities of their realization based on core techniques and standards.
COMPUTER ENGINEERING AND INFORMATICS
Original results of investigations, aimed at the creation of electronic devices, systems and networks, automated information and control processing systems, computer-aided design systems and the software of computer engineering and automated systems are published.
ELECTRONICS
Original research results on the physical basis of the apparatus of various types, the improvement of their models, characteristics, parameters and operation modes in radio engineering devices of diverse applications are published. Moreover, it publishes the results on the scientific basis of new technologies of micro- and nanoelectronic product manufacturing, principles of integrated circuit design, the investigation of mechanisms of the influence of operating conditions on the work of active devices, micro- and nanoelectronic products.
